The session will provide a comprehensive overview of the role of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and the broad scope of their practice, from diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders to supporting patients with communication and swallowing difficulties. Interpreters will learn strategies to navigate the unique challenges of speech therapy appointments, including understanding key terminology, managing complex linguistic and cultural dynamics, and fostering successful communication between therapists, patients, and families.
